Marvel Studios has released a new deleted scene from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, featuring Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff).

The clip, titled "Drax's Analogies and Metaphors," is an extended version of Drax's lilypad analogy that he shares with Star-Lord. While the theatrical cut of the film featured Bautista's fan-favorite character listing only a couple of examples to prove to Star-Lord that he knows what an analogy and metaphor are, the extended scene has the comedic bit go on a bit longer, much to Mantis' dismay.

After a successful box office run (Volume 3 sits at just over $830 million worldwide), the Marvel Cinematic Universe threequel is heading to digital (July 7) and home video (Aug. 1), allowing fans the opportunity to rewatch the second film release as part of the franchise's Phase 5. "Drax's Analogies and Metaphors" is one of eight deleted scenes that will be available as bonus features on the digital and home video releases. There will also be two featurettes released -- "The Imperfect, Perfect Family" and "Creating Rocket Raccoon" -- which will unpack the evolution of the Guardians through the trilogy and show how writer/director James Gunn brought Rocket (Bradley Cooper) to life, respectively.

What's Next for the Guardians?

While Marvel Studios has not announced a fourth Guardians movie at this time, Volume 3 did introduce a new lineup for the cosmic team consisting of Rocket, Groot, Adam Warlock, Kraglin, Cosmo and Phyla. Marvel did, however, confirm after the Volume 3 credits that "the legendary Star-Lord" will return in future MCU projects. Should Marvel decide to move forward with a fourth Guardians, it would not be written and directed by Gunn due to his exclusivity contract with DC Studios, which began as soon as Volume 3 was released.
