The hit manga Mashle: Magic and Muscles will end in a few days.
According to Manga Mogura RE, the Harry Potter parody fantasy adventure manga Mashle will end in Weekly Shōnen Jump's upcoming Issue 31. The last chapter, Chapter 162, will release on Sunday, July 2. Volume 18, the final volume of the series, will release on Oct. 4.
Magic vs. Mash's Mighty Muscles
Written and illustrated by Hajime Kōmoto, Mashle: Magic and Muscles premiered on Weekly Shōnen Jump in January 2020. Set in a world where a person's place in society is dictated by the amount of magical power they have, Mash Burnedead is perhaps at the very bottom as he lacks any sort of magical inclination. Despite this, he enrolls himself in Easton Magic Academy, a prestigious magic shool that usually only admits students with extraordinary powers. Mash may not have magic, but he has the muscles to make up for it and he'll prove to everyone that in a world where magic is mighty, muscles are mightier.
The manga has recorded over five million copies in circulation as of April 2023. The series has also received several nominations including the Shogakukan Manga Award for shōnen and landed on several recommended manga lists. While there have been parallels made between Mashle and Harry Potter and One-Punch Man, critics have praised Mashle for its humor and action scenes.
A-1 Pictures (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and the upcoming anime adaptation of Solo Leveling) produced the anime adaptation of Mashle and released the series in April 2023. Tomoya Tanaka directed the anime with Yōsuke Kuroda writing the script and Masaru Yokoyama composing the music. Chiaki Kobayashi voices Mash, with Aleks Le as the English dub counterpart. Reiji Kawashima voices Mash's roommate Finn Ames with Brian Timothy Anderson voicing the English dub. Kaito Ishikawa portrays Lance Crown, Mash's rival, with Stephen Fu voicing the English dub. Episode 12 "Mash Burndead and the Magic Mirror" will release on July 1.
