Naruto characters rarely celebrate their birthdays during the series, but fans still know their birthdates. This is largely thanks to the inclusion of character profiles in manga volumes, data books, and even magazines.

Including birthdates means fans can also figure out the Zodiac signs of their favorite characters. Not every Naruto character perfectly matches their Zodiac sign, but many of them do exhibit at least a few of the traits commonly ascribed to their respective constellation.

12 Aries: Sakura

March 21 - April 19

Sakura looking stern (Naruto)

Naruto's teammate, Sakura, does a lot of growing up a lot throughout the series. Born on March 28th, she falls right in line with the more impulsive side of her star sign, Aries.

Aries are adventurous and always ready to step out into the world. Even though she faces constant danger, Sakura always presses on. Likewise, Sakura tends to jump to conclusions, sometimes reacting aggressively. It takes time and growth for her to temper that, but she never loses her Aries qualities.

11 Choji: Taurus

April 20 - May 20

Choji activating his Giant Butterfly Just (Naruto)

There's no other Naruto character who embodies his zodiac sign as much as Choji. Born on May 1, he's a Taurus. Tauruses are known for their stubborn streak, but they also appreciate the finer things in life. In Choji's case, the finer things tend to be the best restaurants and snacks in the Leaf Village.

Choji is willing to wait out an enemy, biding enough time for his friends to escape, as shown in the Sasuke Recovery Mission. Like a Taurus, Choji is an incredibly patient and kind person who cherishes his friends. He's often underappreciated because of these traits, but Shikamaru and Ino are his true friends.

10 Gemini: Itachi

May 21 - June 20

Itachi blocking an attack in Naruto.

The twin sign Gemini represents duality and the desire to pursue various interests. Unsurprisingly, Sasuke's elder brother Itachi is a Gemini—born June 9th—as those born under this sign are often seen as "two-faced."

To both the viewers and Sasuke, Itachi's reasons for destroying the Uchiha Clan and leaving the village appeared quite evil. He puts his younger brother through mental anguish, setting him on a desperate path of revenge. But one of Gemini's traits is cleverness, allowing Itachi to slip out of some of the most dangerous situations.

9 Cancer: Neji And Kiba

June 21 - July 22

Neji looking to his left, while Kiba stares straight forward (Naruto)

Neji and Kiba may appear to have nothing in common, but they both embody Cancer's protective traits. They're born four days apart—Kiba was born July 7, and Neji was born July 3—with Neji being a few years older. Ironically, they found themselves protecting the same person in their teens.

Neji and his cousin Hinata, have their differences, but he learns from her and grows to truly appreciate their connection. He sacrifices himself during the war, shielding her from an oncoming strike. Likewise, Kiba and Hinata are on the same Genin team. He regularly tries to protect her on missions, even though he trusts her skills.

8 Leo: Sasuke

July 23 - August 22

Sasuke leaving the village (Naruto)

As the loner of Team 7, the one who turns his back on the Leaf Village's teachings and aligns himself with Orochimaru, Sasuke seems like more of a villain than a hero. Sasuke's brooding and solitary personality is actually quite the opposite of his Zoxiac sign.

Sasuke was born on July 23rd, making him a Leo. Known to be incredibly social, Leos love to be the center of attention, which seems to be against Sasuke's nature. But what matches Sasuke's ambitious, determined personality is pure Leo. Like many Leos, he may come off as self-centered as he focuses more on himself than appeasing others.

7 Virgo: Shikamaru And Ino

August 23 - September 22

Shikamaru and Int having barbecue together (Naruto)

Shikamaru and Ino are born only a day apart—with Shikamaru being older—making Choji the odd man out on Team Asuma. Considering their different personalities, the two appear to be opposites, but they have more in common with Virgo's traits than fans assume.

While Shikamaru is not interested in his studies, he still exhibits Virgo's perfectionism whenever he strategizes. He plans for every aspect of an attack, mission, or day just watching the clouds. Ino, on the other hand, has a different perfectionist streak. She is more on-point regarding her appearance and social life, but she might be just as adept at strategy as Shikamaru based on her Chūnin Exam match against Sakura.

6 Libra: Naruto

September 23 - October 22

Naruto talking with Iruka about learning the Multi-Shadow Clone Just (Naruto)

If fans weren't sure when the Nine-Tailed Fox attacked the Leaf Village, Naruto's birthday should give them a clue. Born on October 10th as a Libra, his life begins when the demon fox launches his historic attack.

Libras are all about fairness. They desire balance in the world—easily spotted in Naruto's heroic nature— and wish to help the marginalized and oppressed. Libras are also very social. They can be very charming and even flirty at times. Naruto is quick to make friends, despite everyone's initial impressions of him.

5 Scorpio: Orochimaru

October 23 - November 21

Orochimaru sticking out his long, snake-like tongue (Naruto)

The brilliantly devious Orochimaru is a perfect fit for the misunderstood Scorpio. He knows how to get inside his enemies' heads, perfectly using Scorpio's bent towards the psychological. If he wasn't one of Naruto's primary antagonists, he probably would've been one of the best strategists for the Leaf Village.

Orochimaru takes Scorpio's best traits and uses them to his advantage. He's cunning and calculating, waiting patiently for the best time to strike his adversaries. He knows what he wants and will stop at nothing to get it, even if it means manipulating innocents into doing his bidding.

4 Sagittarius: Rock Lee

November 22 - December 21

Rock Lee giving a thumbs-up (Naruto)

Excitable and always ready for a challenge, Rock Lee might have been perceived as a Leo. However, his birthday falls on November 27—the same day as the late Bruce Lee—making him a Sagittarius.

People born under the sign of Sagittarius tend to be optimists and truth-tellers. Lee accepts any challenge because he believes his skills will eventually be good enough for a win. Likewise, he always speaks his mind, even when he knows his teammates might not see things his way.

3 Capricorn: Hinata

December 22 - January 19

Hinata protecting Naruto from Pain (Naruto)

Considering her initially gentle nature, discerning Hinata's personality can be challenging. Born at the beginning of the Capricorn season—December 27—Hinata might not seem like a fit for the Zodiac sign that symbolizes ambition. It's during the Chūnin Exams that fans learn more about her and the reasons behind her soft-spoken nature.

Hinata might not want to be a leader, but she's certainly not lacking in ambition or in her sense of duty, another Capricorn trait. She wants to prove to her family and herself that she has what it takes to be a shinobi; she works harder than anyone else in her generation to hone her skills, and it gradually begins to pay off.

2 Aquarius: Shino

January 20 - February 18

Shino about to use his bugs (Naruto)

Born just 27 days after his teammate Hinata, Shino is an Aquarius. He's often the odd man out as the other kids in his generation don't quite understand him. Shino also has one of the most unique abilities in Naruto: controlling insects.

Aquariuses are often rebellious, which may sound more like a Sasuke trait than a Shino one. Regardless, Shino still manages to pave his own path in the shinobi world. Like an Aquarius, he's intelligent and appears mysterious and aloof, but he still values his community. Since he doesn't quite fit in with the rest of his generation, Shino figures out how to do things his own way.

1 Pisces: Tenten

February 19 - March 20

Tenten about to use a jutsu (Naruto)

Fans never learn Tenten's surname in the series, but her birthday is March 9th, making her a Pisces. Unfortunately, Tenten doesn't get as much spotlight as the other Genin, but viewers learn a lot about her personality thanks to her interactions with Neji and Rock Lee.

Because her teammates like to compete with each other, Tenten is often caught between them as the voice of reason and straight man to Lee or Guy's antics. That makes sense because a Pisces is incredibly in tune with their surroundings and the people they encounter.
