Andor's supporting characters will undergo a ton of growth throughout the many events of Season 2.

Appearing on Entertainment Weekly's Dagobah Dispatch podcast, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, and Kyle Soller dropped a few hints at what viewers should expect from Bix Caleen, Dedra Meero, and Syril Karn's stories going forward. Much of their growth, Arjona said, is a result of the season's unique time-jump format, remarking, "There's a time gap in between every couple of episodes. So this season, for me, is super interesting because I get to grow with Bix. And it continues to happen throughout the entire season. So you get to meet, like, three different versions of Bix." This includes the year in-between Season 1's finale and the start of Season 2, with Soller adding, "So these characters have progressed so much from when we last saw them. And then each character does have about three different versions that they wind up continuing to grow through and towards."

The three actors also teased motivations for their characters' respective arcs per time jump. While Arjona played coy on Bix's relationship with the Rebel Alliance, Soller described Syril as, "on his kind of journey of trying to reach the upper echelons with the Bureau of Standards. And I'm trying to see whatever happens from that little moment covered at the end of Season 1." Meanwhile, Gough confirmed that Dedra remains significantly impacted by Syril rescuing her during the Ferrix uprising, even as, "she's still on her journey of wanting the world to be far more ordered than it is."

Andor Season 2 is currently in production, though its planned shoot in April was canceled due to weather patterns increasing "the risk of rockfalls and landslips." Likewise, while showrunner Tony Gilroy ceased non-writing responsibilities due to the WGA strike, he completed Andor's remaining scripts before the protest officially began. The season's release date hasn't been announced yet, but the show is expected to return next August.

Arjona, Soller, and Gough won't be the only supporting cast members joining Diego Luna in Andor Season 2. Genevieve O'Reilly and Forest Whittaker will both reprise their roles as Senator Mon Mothma and freedom fighter Saw Gerrera, while Andy Serkis recently teased the possibility of Imperial prisoner Kino Loy appearing somewhere down the line. Season 2 will also reportedly explain how Cassian Andor met his Rogue One: A Star Wars Story droid companion K-2SO, voiced by Alan Tudyk.

Season 1 of Andor is available to stream on Disney+.
