The Doom Patrol is a group of misfit superheroes, first appearing in DC Comics in 1963 and created by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney, and Bruno Premiani. The Doom Patrol has seen many different members come and go from their roster, but one thing always remains the same; they are weird, wonderful, and a family.

Labeled the "world's strangest heroes," it is necessary for this bunch of characters to have villains who can match their weirdness. A great villain for the Doom Patrol is one that is strange, interesting, and also an actual threat. Some don't meet the mark, but others hit just the right level of abnormality to be deemed the best Doom Patrol villains possible.

A man with half a dinosaur face and a rock arm looking angry - Animal Vegetable Mineral Man

The Doom Patrol is nothing without their weirdness, and Animal-Vegetable-Mineral-Man is potentially as weird as its villains get. Sven Larson became Animal-Vegetable-Mineral-Man as a result of one of his own experiments, a villain with a very on-the-nose name and a wacky appearance.

Animal-Vegetable-Mineral-Man has the ability to change into any animal, vegetable, or mineral on command. This power is unique but incredibly useful and makes him quite a difficult foe for the Doom Patrol. He is a scary-looking character and brings the right amount of randomness to DC Comics.

While asleep, McKenzie becomes the villain Sleepwalk and has superhuman strength that allows her to easily take down opponents. Another Doom Patrol villain with an interesting appearance, Red Jack is often shown wearing a long, red, garish coat.
