DC announces its return to San Diego Comic-Con and reveals its lineup in a press release on June 28, 2023.
DC is just as excited to be back at SDCC as its fans stating "SDCC provides the perfect platform for DC to connect with fans, showcase exciting content, and celebrate the power of DC storytelling. Whether you’re looking for the most binge-worthy comics and TV shows, the toys and collectibles that you absolutely must have, feature films, or just the most amazing cosplay on the planet, you’ll find it where DC and SDCC come together for their fans."
The industry giant says that its return will bring a "can’t-miss lineup of panels, talent signings, and interactive experiences." It further elaborates that "DC is set to deliver an unforgettable weekend of programming. Fans can look forward to engaging directly with their favorite creators by attending in-booth signings." Among the aforementioned stars will include big-name creators such as acclaimed writer and artist, Todd McFarlane, and DC's CCO and co-creator of Hush, Jim Lee.
DC will also bring with it a brand-new booth to SDCC's show floor from Wednesday, July 19, through Sunday, July 23. The booth will sell a wide range of comics and new merchandise. The press release also announces that "While supplies last, DC will be selling limited printings of Superman “Big Blue” Edition, Silver Screen Editions of Batman #655, Booster Gold #1, Authority #1 and Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow #1, a facsimile blank sketch cover variant of Batman #655, SDCC-exclusive hardcovers for Nightwing Vol. 1: Leaping Into the Light, Poison Ivy Vol. 1: The Virtuous Cycle and Batman by Grant Morrison Omnibus Vol. 1, plus limited-quantity chase product like the Sandman Helm Masterpiece Edition, and more."
McFarlane Toys and DC Team Up at San Diego Comic-Con
DC reveals that McFarlane's global toy company McFarlane Toys will be partnering up with the publisher to "bring iconic and fan-favorite characters to life at SDCC in the DC Booth." It adds that "McFarlane Toys will be offering pre-orders on DC action figures, poly-resin statues, and will have DC Multiverse and DC Direct product for sale (while supplies last). As a design driven company known for unparalleled attention to detail, McFarlane Toys will have a few surprises for fans to be revealed in the coming weeks!"
There will also be many engaging panels for the fans. DC promises that it will offer "exclusive insights into the world of comics and offer fans a glimpse into the future of their favorite DC Super Heroes. Renowned writers, artists, and industry experts will take the stage to discuss upcoming projects, share behind-the-scenes anecdotes, and answer fan questions."
