Sony has just set release dates for two untitled Marvel movies.

According to Deadline, Sony recently reserved the following dates for untitled Marvel movies: Nov. 8, 2024, and June 27, 2025. Both will have access to IMAX screens. At this time, it is unknown which Sony/Marvel films will land on those dates. A recent report claimed Venom 3 would release in theaters in October 2024, but, since it is unlikely Sony would release two Marvel movies that close together, it is far more likely that the upcoming threequel will end up occupying the Nov. 8, 2024 release date. However, until Sony officially announces the release date for Venom 3, fans should take all reports with a grain of salt.

Could Spider-Man 4 Hit Theaters in 2025?

Deadline speculates that the June 2025 release date could be for Sony and Marvel Studios' Spider-Man 4, the fourth installment in the Tom Holland-led and Marvel Cinematic Universe-set film series. Holland, who made his debut as the MCU's Peter Parker/Spider-Man in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, recently commented that there have been "multiple conversations" about Spider-Man 4, "but at this point it's very, very early stages." Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed in February 2023 that "our writers are just putting pen to paper now" on Spider-Man 4. This was before the Writers Guild of America went on strike in May, halting production on several Marvel projects including Blade, Thunderbolts and Daredevil: Born Again. At this time, it is unknown when Spider-Man 4 might go into production let alone release in theaters.

Venom 3 was announced during Sony's CinemaCon 2022 presentation. Tom Hardy will reprise his role from the first two films as Eddie Brock/Venom, with Doctor Strange's Chiwetel Ejiofor and Ted Lasso's Juno Temple joining the cast in undisclosed roles. Kelly Marcel, who co-wrote 2018's Venom and 2021's Venom: Let There Be Carnage, is returning to pen the screenplay for Venom 3 based on a story by herself and Hardy. Marcel will also make her directorial debut on the feature.

Kraven and Madame Web Join Sony's Spider-Man Universe

There are currently three films in Sony's Spider-Man Universe that have release dates. Kraven the Hunter, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, will open in theaters on Oct. 6, 2023, followed by El Muerto on Jan. 12, 2024, and Madame Web on Feb. 16, 2024. El Muerto, which will star Bad Bunny, has not shot a single frame of footage, with principal photography scheduled to commence this August. This has led many insiders to believe that the film will be pushed back from January 2024 since there will not be enough time to complete filming and post-production in that short window. Madame Web is currently in post-production and stars Dakota Johnson as Madame Web and Sydney Sweeney as Spider-Woman.
