The following contains spoilers for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, now playing in theaters.

Marvel's long list of comics features an expansive and complex multiverse throughout each individual story. This has obviously carried over to the film adaptations of Marvel Comics, including the MCU which has its own rule-ridden multiverse. With that said, it's not really surprising that some actors have played more than one Marvel-related role.

Sony's Spider-Verse films have been pretty successful, with the new sequel, Across the Spider-Verse already impressing audiences. While Miles Morales and Spider-Man are, in general, highly lovable topics, it's hard to consider the Spider-Verse without acknowledging the absolutely stellar cast shining in both movies. Luckily for fans, a few of the Spider-Verse cast members can be found in some live-action Marvel movies as well.

Gwen Stacy's Hailee Steinfeld Stars in Hawkeye

Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop in Hawkeye and Gwen Stacy in Spider-Verse

Hailee Steinfeld is the voice behind Gwen Stacy -- also known as Spider-Gwen and Ghost-Spider -- in both Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse. Her character is one of Miles Morales' female counterparts and a possible love interest in the movies. Beyond Steinfeld's non-Marvel career, she's actually been a part of the MCU in the Disney+ series Hawkeye. In it, she plays Kate Bishop, who is basically the other Hawkeye. Kate was a normal upper-class child before her father died, and she was saved by The Avengers. After the big attack, Kate trains vigilantly and becomes an archery master before stepping up into the shoes of her hero, Clint Barton, or Hawkeye, eventually working alongside him. As such, Steinfeld is featured heavily throughout the entire Hawkeye series.

Jefferson Davis' Brian Tyree Henry Is an Eternal

Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos in Eternals and Jefferson Morales in Spider-Verse

The voice behind Jefferson Davis is Brian Tyree Henry. His character is an important part of Miles Morales' life, as he's his dad. He's a police officer and one of Miles' idols. As it turns out, Henry also plays a decently large role in the movie Eternals, unlike Harry Styles' tiny Starfox cameo at the end. He's Phastos who is also commonly referred to as The Inventor. He's an ancient being and is responsible for a lot of technological innovations throughout human history, some of which lead to mass destruction and him breaking off from the Eternals. They obviously reunite during the events of the 2021 Eternals film. Phastos is a pretty groundbreaking character for Marvel as he's openly gay and part of a happy family with his husband and their son. This makes him one of the first Marvel movie characters that are obviously gay. Eternals did, in fact, make history by featuring the MCU's first LGBTQ+ kiss.

Oscar Isaac's Miguel O'Hara Is a Double Marvel Alum

Oscar Isaac as Moon Knight and Miguel O'Hara in Spider-Verse

Miguel O'Hara is brought to life by Star Wars star Oscar Isaac. Miguel O'Hara, or Spider-Man 2099, is basically a villain in Across the Spider-Verse as he runs the Spider-Society which is after Miles Morales. But, this Spidey is not Isaac's only role in Marvel. One of the first examples of a live-action Marvel character he's played is Apocalypse or En Sabah Nur in X-Men: Apocalypse. He's one of the most powerful beings ever and is widely considered to be the first mutant, making him very dangerous to the X-Men. Isaac is considered to be a part of Marvel history, as he's the first actor to snag three individual roles in Marvel movies. The third role in his Marvel belt is considered to be one of his best, and that's as three sort-of separate characters: Steven Grant, Marc Spector, and the masked alter ego Moon Knight. That makes him the main character throughout the iconic Disney+ series, Moon Knight.

Spider-Punk's Daniel Kaluyya Rocked Wakanda

Daniel Kaluuya as W'Kabi in the MCU and as Spider-Punk in Spider-Verse

Hobie Brown is, by far, one of the coolest Spidey people in Across the Spider-Verse. He's known as Spider-Punk, though he's not a fan of that name, which comes from his alternative sense of style and Mohawk-inspired Spidey mask. He's one of many Spideys to be bitten by a radioactive spider, though the spider's radioactivity is much more interesting as it was the result of an illegal dumping of hazardous waste. The man behind the character is no less awesome as Spider-Punk is played by Daniel Kaluyya. He doesn't have many other Marvel roles, but he plays W'Kabi in Black Panther alongside the late Chadwick Boseman.

Spider-Man India's Karan Soni Is a Deadpool Fave

Karan Soni as Dopinder in Deadpool and Spider-Man India in Spider-Verse

Spider-Man India, or Pavitr Prabhakar, is quite aptly named as he's the Indian version of Peter Parker. He's a Spider-Verse character with a shorter comics history, but his backstory makes up for it. He wasn't bitten by a spider at all, and his powers stemmed from an encounter with an ancient yogi. He's voiced by Karan Soni in Across the Spider-Verse who is perhaps best known for his role as Dopinder in the Deadpool movies. Dopinder is the highly lovable taxi driver featured throughout the movie and acts as Deadpool's trusty chauffeur. He's set to reprise the role of Dopinder in Deadpool 3 as well.

Aaron Davis' Mahershala Ali Will Be a Marvel Triple-Timer

Mahershala Ali as Blade in the MCU and as Prowler in Spider-Verse

Aaron Davis is yet another member of Miles' family, as he's Jefferson's brother and Miles' uncle. However, beyond being cool Uncle Aaron, he's the masked criminal called The Prowler. The Prowler worked for Kingpin and was a strong enemy of pretty much every Spidey imaginable, including his nephew, though Miles' identity was unknown to him during the feud. The voice behind the character, Mahershala Ali is also no stranger to Marvel, and in fact, he'll soon be joining Oscar Issac in the three-times-a-charm Marvel group. He's played the criminal mastermind Cornell Bertram Stokes, aka Cottonmouth in Luke Cage. While he's technically already hit the third role mark with his uncredited and brief post-credits teaser in Eternals, his highly-anticipated role hasn't dropped yet. That is, of course, the iconic but weird human-vampire hybrid superhero Blade. As it turns out, Ali's short-lived role in Luke Cage reportedly inspired him to contact Marvel Studios hoping to be cast as the lead in a future Blade remake.

Doc Ock's Kathryn Hahn Is a WandaVision Villain

Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness and Olivia Octavius in Spider-Verse

Considering Marvel's multiverse is complex, it's not surprising that there are two main versions of Doctor Octopus. One of which was a big villain in Spider-Man 2 featuring Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man. But, the Spider-Verse villain is mad-scientist Olivia Octavius, a secondary antagonist facing Miles Morales in the Spider-Verse movies. She's voiced by Kathryn Hahn who also plays Agatha Harkness in the Disney+ series, WandaVision. She's the main antagonist of the series, but her identity is concealed so she can pose as Wanda and Vision's friendly, albeit nosy neighbor, Agnes. By the end of the series, however, it's revealed to the Maximoff family that she's a pretty powerful witch with the unique ability to absorb powers from other witches. She was a pretty iconic character, which luckily for fans, isn't going to end anytime soon. In fact, she'll be the star of the upcoming WandaVision spin-off series Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

To catch these familiar Marvel faces and more, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now in theaters.
