Phoebe Waller-Bridge recently recalled the time that Harrison Ford kicked her out of his trailer while they were shooting Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

Waller-Bridge revealed she was temporarily unwelcome in Ford's trailer after she paid the Hollywood legend a visit while wearing a lifelike mask of his face in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "It scared the crap out of him, actually," she said. "Even though that 'actually' is only represented by him blinking three times and saying, 'Get the hell out of my trailer.'" Waller-Bridge added that Ford subsequently pulled a similar prank on her, creeping up behind the Fleabag star clad in a mask modeled on her own likeness.

While Waller-Bridge clearly made the most of her opportunity to act opposite Ford, she noted in a recent interview that what originally convinced her to sign on for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was its story. In particular, the English actor and screenwriter was drawn to the way Dial of Destiny handled Indiana Jones' advanced age and what it meant in the context of a franchise-ending blockbuster. "I always think the interesting stuff comes when you push a little bit beyond the end. What happens after the conversation? What happens after someone gets in a cab and goes home?" Waller-Bridge said.

Is Lucasfilm Making an Indiana Jones Spinoff?

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny marks Ford's final outing as the franchise's eponymous protagonist, however, it's unclear if audiences have likewise seen the last of Waller-Bridge's Helena Shaw. The online rumor mill continues to speculate about the likelihood of an Indiana Jones spinoff headlined by Shaw -- something Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy recently acknowledge is "entirely possible." Dial of Destiny director James Mangold has made it clear that he isn't interested in helming the hypothetical project, though, insisting he "just can't do it."

Regardless of whether Waller-Bridge does end up the star of her own Indiana Jones spinoff, one thing is clear: Kennedy is very keen to collaborate with her again. The Lucasfilm boss said as much in a recent interview, noting that Waller-Bridge's busy schedule is the only thing preventing them from working together at the moment. "I would give anything to have Phoebe write a film," Kennedy said. "Whenever I'm talking to her, she's deep into commitments with current deals, but I would bring her on to write a movie tomorrow."

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny arrives in cinemas on June 30, 2023.
