While many fans of Gotham Knights are concerned the series won't be able to tie up many of its narrative threads, star Misha Collins promises that's not the case.

Per Deadline, the veteran CW actor claims that while the show was abruptly canceled, it will at least conclude in a way that will make it feel like a limited series in many ways. "I have to say, as it plays, this season ties up so many of the story arcs on the show with a bow so neatly that it almost works as a one-season miniseries," Collins said. "I’m glad that we’re not leaving the audience hanging…it feels like a very nicely encapsulated chapter and an okay stopping point." Despite his satisfaction with the conclusion, the actor also insisted that he's still disappointed to not continue with Season 2, noting that he believes the narrative was only just getting started with Season 1.

After a prolonged period of indecision, The CW finally brought down the hammer on Gotham Knights, terminating the show after just a single season. The series, which follows a group of young vigilantes as they embark on a mission to clear their names after being framed for the murder of Batman, earned a passionate following but the audience numbers weren't enough to save the series despite its reportedly lower-than-usual budget. The only remaining DC show on The CW is currently Superman & Lois, which will be returning for a fourth season.

Misha Collins Breaks His Silence

Collins didn't mince his words when it came to Gotham Knights' cancelation, stating his disappointment that he won't be able to properly explore Harvey Dent's villainous arc as the iconic DC villain Two-Face. "I'm especially proud that our story about fighting the good fight also gave us opportunities to tell diverse and inclusive stories. We need more of that on screen, and while this story may not be going forward, I really believe it helped open that door a little wider for more characters from all backgrounds to shine," the actor wrote.
