The Teen Titans have a long history that dates back to the 1960s. However, The New Teen Titans of the '80s by Marv Wolfman and George Perez are still adored for being one of the greatest Teen Titans series of all time.
The New Teen Titans came together to help Raven defeat her father, Trigon, even after the Justice League refused to help. They've shown bravery on numerous occasions and always put others before themselves. As a result, The Titans are incredibly courageous and supportive teenagers.
10 Danny Chase Eventually Redeemed Himself
Danny Chase is notorious for being one of the most disliked Teen Titans. He could be very annoying and egotistical at times and tended to get on a lot of readers' nerves. However, in the end, Danny sacrificed himself for his friends.
At one point, Raven gave in to evil, and Danny and Raven's mother were the only people who could stop her. Danny sacrificed himself to merge with Raven's mother and the souls of Azarath, becoming the being known as Phantasm. While Danny was a pain at times, he showed courage and loyalty by protecting his friends.
9 Speedy Fights Bravely Without Any Superpowers
Heroes without superpowers possess a next-level type of bravery. Speedy is one such hero. Speedy wasn't a permanent member of the New Teen Titans. However, he was one of the founding members of the original Teen Titans and occasionally helped out his old friends on their new team.
For instance, Roy once helped out the Titans during a time they'd briefly disbanded. Donna Troy asked some previous Titans to help take down the assassin, Cheshire, which wasn't Roy's fight as he was no longer a part of the Titans. However, that didn't stop him from doing what he could to help the mission succeed, proving his selflessness and bravery.
8 Jericho Was The Sweetest Teen Titan
The son of Deathstroke, Joseph Wilson (aka Jericho) was a kind soul who liked to avoid conflict whenever he could. However, that didn't mean Jericho wasn't brave. He's loyal to his friends and teammates even when he's evil.
Jericho's superpower allows him to enter people's bodies and control them. Unfortunately, the evil personalities of the villains he entered imprinted themselves on him over time. Because of this, Jericho became evil and consequently betrayed the Titans. In his final moments, Jericho briefly regained control and begged his father to kill him so he couldn't hurt his friends. With this final act, Jericho proved his bravery.
7 Beast Boy Is The Younger Brother Of The Teen Titans
Beast Boy (aka Gar) was the youngest member of the New Teen Titans for a long time. He frequently cracked jokes and goofed off. However, this humor and mirth were often used to hide his insecurities. Just because Gar was funny didn't mean he couldn't be serious when necessary.
During a fight with Deathstroke, no one notices him trying to escape except Gar. He doesn't hesitate to battle the assassin on his own, and the fight ends with Gar being mortally wounded and the Titans rushing to his aid. Deathstroke is one of the Titan's most dangerous foes, and Gar didn't even think twice before rushing in to fight him.
6 Kid Flash Was An Original Teen Titan
Along with Robin and Aqualad, Kid Flash helped found the Teen Titans back in 1964. Wally has worked with various versions of the Titans over the years, both as Kid Flash and the Flash, and in each of his appearances, Wally shows great bravery.
In one story, Wally and the Titans are fighting a foe known as the Disruptor. When Donna is out flying and gets attacked one night, Wally is luckily there to see her fall and come to her aid. Without taking the time to alert the others, he rescues Donna who's fallen into a river, then goes after the Disruptor on his own. Luckily, once Donna wakes up, she alerts the others and they come to help. Wally is so concerned for Donna's safety that he didn't even think about calling in backup; he just acted because one of his friends was in trouble.
5 Raven Has Fought Her Father For Years
Raven is the daughter of the demon lord, Trigon. For many years, her father has tried to sway her to his side to use her powers. In fact, The New Teen Titans were first formed when Raven brought them together to defeat her father. There have been countless instances when Raven could have joined her father and turned on her friends, but she's always fought bravely against him.
Trigon has used his powers to make Raven turn on her friends several times. However, Raven always pushes back and returns to normal. Many people would have eventually given in and joined him, but Raven continuously shows the courage to do what is right.
4 Cyborg Was Brave Enough To Inspire Others
There's more to bravery than simply putting oneself in danger. Bravery can also be about accepting oneself. When Victor Stone first awoke from his accident, he hated what he'd become. His father had turned him into a Cyborg to save his life. But all Victor saw was the fact that he looked different and wouldn't be able to play football anymore.
This changed when he met Sarah Simms and her class of students from a school for the disabled. The kids instantly fell in love with Victor because, in their eyes, he was just like them. At this moment, he finally had the courage to accept himself and became a role model for the kids.
3 Donna Troy Is Brave Enough To Find Herself
Donna Troy is a fierce warrior. She's one of the original Teen Titans and is somewhat of a "big sister" for future teams. Possessing the powers of the Amazons, Donna is an amazing fighter. However, combat isn't the only way she's brave.
For many years, Donna had no idea where she came from. She could barely remember anything that happened to her before she joined the Teen Titans, which led to a long search for her family and heritage. She did this without knowing what she'd find out about herself, but she was brave enough to accept whatever she uncovered. She also showed courage by continuing to search for answers, despite the chance she'd never find what she was looking for.
2 Batman Trained Dick Grayson To Not Show Fear
Batman is well known for never showing fear, which is a trait he tried to pass on to his ward and protégé, Dick Grayson. Dick started his hero career as Robin before graduating to become Nightwing. As Both Robin and Nightwing, Dick has fearlessly led many iterations of the Teen Titans.
Dick always puts the mission and his friend's safety above his own. Even though he doesn't have superpowers, Dick fearlessly led the Titans into countless dangerous battles. In one storyline, the Titans are trying to gather information about the cult leader, Brother Blood. To do so, Dick puts on a disguise and travels all the way to the country of Zandia on his own. He's eventually captured and brainwashed, but the fact he was willing to go on his own speaks to Dick's bravery.
1 Starfire Is A Fierce Warrior From Tamaran
Starfire is a warrior princess from the planet Tamaran. Tamaranians are fierce people who are extremely skilled in the art of war. Consequently, Starfire grew up fearing nothing. She demonstrated this fearlessness while enslaved for six years.
When Tamaran was invaded, Starfire's father, the King, had no other choice but to give his daughter to the invaders for the promise of peace. Many people would have given up in Starfire's situation, but she stayed strong. After six years, Starfire finally saw the opportunity to escape and fled to Earth where she met the Teen Titans. With her new friends, she remained a warrior and demonstrated her bravery time after time in battle.
