A new clip from the upcoming film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny showcases Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen as a Nazi engaged in a chase with Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones.

The new clip was unveiled at the 2023 Star Wars Celebration over the weekend. Although it is not yet available to general audiences, fans who saw it have been leaking details of its content online. According to The Direct, the clip, which is about six minutes in length, features Indiana Jones in Morocco arguing with his goddaughter, Helena (portrayed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge), engaging in an argument over a bad deal. They then quickly hop into a tuk-tuk (a small, three-wheeled vehicle commonly used as a taxi and popular in hotter climates like Morocco) and proceed to chase Mikkelsen's Jürgen Voller, who holds possession of the eponymous dial.

The chase turns into an action scene as, in classic Indiana Jones style, Indy and his accomplice recklessly speed through the streets of the foreign town, with Indy even being knocked off the vehicle at some point in the process. Eventually, they catch up with Voller, and the scene ends with Helena attempting to wrestle the dial away from him, and a car containing her fiancé, Rahim (Alaa Safi), crashing behind them.

The Fifth Indiana Jones Movie

Naturally, the Dial of Destiny, which is the fifth film in the Indiana Jones franchise, quickly became the subject of much hype and excitement upon its official announcement in 2016. The first to be made since Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012, it is also the first in the series to not include George Lucas or Steven Spielberg in any way. Nonetheless, it will see the return of Ford and John Rhys-Davies as Indy's trusty friend Sallah (who last appeared in the series' third film, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, in 1989), and legendary conductor John Williams as composer.

The film, which will be co-written and directed by James Mangold, will take place both in the 1940s and the late '60s and will feature a de-aged Ford in the former time frame. The later story will take place against the backdrop of the Space Race, with Voller going rogue as a former Nazi hired by the U.S. government to help them beat the Soviet Union to space (based on the real-life Operation Paperclip). Jones, meanwhile, is brought out of retirement to help put a stop to Voller's nefarious plans.

The film, which will likely be the last of the Indiana Jones series, will also have a runtime of at least 2 hours and 20 minutes, making it the longest-running film in the franchise. It also has a budget of nearly $300 million, making it by far the most expensive film in the series, and even one of the most expensive films of all time.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hits theaters June 30.
