My Hero Academia's Previous Collaborations

My Hero Academia recently embarked on a Fortnite collaboration where four character skins were made available for players to purchase, including Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, Ochaco Uraraka and All Might. In March 2022, the My Hero Academia characters shrunk into adorable Sanrio characters for a second time after their first collaboration in 2019. The franchise has also collaborated with Primitive Skateboards in the past where fans can ride along with their favorite characters on skateboards.

Kōhei Horikoshi started My Hero Academia after the cancelation of his previous series Barrage. After revising one of his prior one-shots, it became the basis for his most popular and one of the best-selling manga series of all time. The mangaka gathered inspiration from various American superhero films and comics such as Sam Raimi's Spider-Man and X-Men, as well as other manga such as Dragon Ball and Kamen Rider. The series has recorded over 85 million copies in circulation as of February 2023. My Hero Academia has won several awards, including Best Manga at the Sugoi Japan Award in 2017 and Best Shōnen at the 2018 Japan Expo Awards.

The popularity of the manga has spawned an equally popular anime franchise. Helmed by Studio Bones, the first season of My Hero Academia aired in April 2016 and has aired a season a year, with Season 6 recently wrapping up with the adaptation of the "Paranormal Liberation War" and "Dark Hero" arcs in March 2023. The franchise has also inspired a live-action adaptation with Shinsuke Sato directing and Joby Harold writing the screenplay. A potential cast list for the live-action had been leaked, although there has been no official confirmation as of this article's publication.

Season 6 of My Hero Academia is available to stream on Crunchyroll with Season 7 airing in the future. The manga is available to read on Manga Plus and Viz Media.
