The following contains spoilers for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #7, on sale now from Marvel Comics.

After a lethal battle, Iron Man gave Miles Morales his very own Iron Spider Armor to save his life.

Marvel Comics' Miles Morales: Spider-Man #7 saw the titular Spider-Man face off against Cletus Kasady, who is now in possession of Tony Stark’s stolen Extrembiote. Iron Man joins the battle stating that he knew Kasady was going to resurface and condemned him for using his technology to commit such heinous acts. Miles Morales: Spider-Man #7 is written by Cody Ziglar with art from Federico Vicentini, colored by Bryan Valenza, lettered by Cory Petit and cover art by Dike Ruan.

Miles Morales receives Iron Spider Armor from Tony Stark.

At the end of the brutal fight, Spider-Man is injured by Cletus, leading Tony Stark to inject nanite clusters into Miles' wound. Tony explains that these nanites will also create a sort of "cast" that will shield him from danger while he recovers. The "cast" is similar to the Iron Spider suit worn by Peter Parker/Spider-Man, which was gifted to the character by Tony Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and first worn in Avengers: Infinity War. However, the Iron Spider Armor first appeared in Marvel Comics in 2006's Amazing Spider-Man #529, created by J. Michael Straczynski and Ron Garney.

Marvel's Summer of Symbiotes

Miles Morales #7 marks part six of Marvel Comics' ongoing Carnage Reigns crossover event, which ties into Marvel's 2023 "Summer of Symbiotes" storyline. Carnage Reigns pits Miles Morales against Cletus Kasady/Carnage, who is in possession of the Extrembiote armor, made by Tony Stark in 2020's King in Black #2, by Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman. The Carnage Reigns crossover event launched in May 2023 and began with the one-shot Carnage Reigns Alpha (co-written by Alex Paknadel and Cody Ziglar with art by Julius Ohta and more). The storyline then expanded into issues of Carnage, Miles Morales: Spider-Man and Red Goblin.

"Carnage Reigns is an old-fashioned David and Goliath story pitting a greener, Spider-Man against the most sadistic monster in the Marvel Universe—Cletus Kasady!" Paknadel said when Carnage Reigns was announced. "Miles has only been this out of his depth on a handful of occasions, which is a gift from a storytelling perspective. I’ve really enjoyed crafting this tale with Cody Ziglar, and we’ve developed a really fun, really productive working shorthand and that fun is present on the page! We know this story will satisfy fans of both characters in their FIRST-EVER CROSSOVER!”

Following Carnage Reigns, Carnage will receive a new series called Web of Carnage, which also ties into the "Summer of Symbiotes" storyline. "Summer of Symbiotes" will conclude with the five-issue miniseries Death of the Venomverse by Cullen Bunn and Gerardo Sandoval.
