Captain America: New World Order has officially changed its title according to star Anthony Mackie.

The actor, who plays the Marvel Cinematic Universe's current Cap, took to Instagram to share his love for co-star Harrison Ford while also giving away the updated title. "When Harrison Ford tells you how kicking ass should look, you listen! LoL… Thanks for the on set wisdom and laughs my friend," Mackie wrote. "Can’t wait to do it again… Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World in theaters May 3, 2024." The change comes after weeks of rumors that the film would be undergoing a shift in title although the reason behind the alteration is still unknown.

Mackie's image also reveals a new look at Sam Wilson's updated superhero threads, which were first captured by behind-the-scenes photographs. The navy blue costume stands in stark contrast to the largely white ensemble he donned in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Fans can also get a look at Cap's shield, firmly strapped to Sam's back, which, from the sliver visible, looks largely unchanged from previous iterations.

What Happens in Brave New World?

While the plot of Captain America: Brave New World is still largely a mystery, fans of Sam Wilson can expect a story that will be significantly more grounded than more recent MCU installments. While Doctor Strange may explore the multiverse and Ant-Man liberate the Quantum Realm, the fourth solo Captain America movie will be a more tangible adventure. "The intent of this is to be very grounded, to make sure it has that sense of really happening in the world," said production designer Ramsey Avery. "So it's a different sense in a lot of ways than particularly some of the more recent pieces have been. And it's a very deliberate choice, and it's a fascinating choice and an exciting choice.

As for the villains, set photos have seemingly confirmed the Serpent Society will play a key role in Brave New World. Beyond the sinister group, the film will also see the return of Dr. Samuel Sterns aka The Master, once again played by Tim Blake Nelson. Having been exposed to Bruce Banner's irradiated blood in The Incredible Hulk, Sterns is expected to fully adopt the mantle of the villain known as The Leader.

Captain America: Brave New World opens in theaters on May 3, 2024.
