WWE superstar Seth "Freakin" Rollins has been revealed as a cast member in Captain America: New World Order.

Per Christopher Oquendo on Twitter, candid photos feature Rollins on the Atlanta set of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie starring Anthony Mackie in the titular role. Decked out in a long black and gold trenchcoat with a Thor-like mullet, Rollins' undisclosed role is speculated to be a member of the supervillain group the Serpent Society. Additionally, Rollins is seen standing next to a blonde-haired person who is possibly also affiliated with the organization.

Real name Colby Lopez, Rollins worked his way from the independent wrestling scene to World Wrestling Entertainment where he debuted on the main roster in 2012 as a member of The Shield. Aligned with future stars Roman Reigns and AEW's Jon Moxley, the trio dominated the WWE for the next two years until Rollins infamously turned his back on the trio to join Triple H and The Authority faction. As a singles performer with the moniker "the Kingslayer," Rollins rose among the ranks in the WWE, winning the WWE Championship and the WWE Universal Championship twice. New World Order is not Rollins' first shot at acting as the Kingslayer had previously played supporting roles in such films as Sharknado: The Fourth Awakens and Like a Boss opposite Tiffany Haddish.

Rollins' History With Marvel

In addition to wrestling, Rollins is a self-professed comic book fan known for his unique Marvel-inspired ring attire. At WWE SummerSlam 2018, Rollins came out in ring gear inspired by Thanos in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War. The following year in a match against Brock Lesnar at WWE Extreme Rules, Rollins donned Wolverine-inspired ring gear based on Hugh Jackman's black and yellow costume from 2000's X-Men and later an Avengers: Endgame time heist attire at WWE Stomping Grounds.

Captain America: New World Order follows up from the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+. In the preceding series, Sam Wilson (Mackie) came around to embracing the Old Glory shield handed down to him by Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) while on a mission to stop the Super Soldier Serum-enhanced Flag Smashers. While plot details remain unknown, New World Order will see the surprise MCU returns of Betty Ross (Liv Tyler) and Samuel Sterns/The Leader (Tim Blake Nelson). Both characters were last seen in 2008's The Incredible Hulk. Additionally, cinema icon Harrison Ford replaces the late William Hurt as Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross.

Captain America: New World Order will arrive in theaters on May 3, 2024.
