Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse puts the focus on the many different Spider-Man variants out there in the multiverse, namely Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen. Although the animated feature might depict its own version of those Spider-Men, the comics have already produced countless costumes for the spider-based vigilantes.

It's thus important to note that these costumes are standouts of the male Spider-Man variants, from the page rather than the screen. Some of these costumes are riffs on what Peter Parker has previously worn on Earth-616, while others are unique to the individuals behind the masks. Nothing will ever beat the classic Spider-Man look, but these multiversal alternatives are still compelling and stylish.

10 Old Man Spider (Earth-4)

Old Man Spider during the Spider-Verse event

The man behind the Old Man Spider outfit is not Peter Parker, but rather Ezekiel Sims. The vigilante wanted to continue to use the Spider-Man moniker to honor the late Peter Parker. The smaller spider logo pays homage to the fallen hero, and the black detailing is sleek and striking.

Old Man Spider's design is reminiscent of the leather jacket that the Spider-Man of Earth-312500 during the Last Stand narrative. He combines the look with a pair of red gloves and simple black pants. It's a casual yet powerful costume that takes elements of the classic Spider-Man attire with a modernized edge.

9 Spider-UK (Earth-833)

Billy Braddock as Spider-UK from the Spider-Verse event

There are some extraordinary Spider-man variants from across the Spider-Verse but Spider-UK's narrative is pretty unique. The British hero is Billy Braddock, a member of the Captain Britain Corps that boasts variants on most versions of Earth. Spider-UK's heritage is obvious in his costuming.

Spider-UK's attire has cleverly incorporated the Union Jack flag as a nod to the other United Kingdom heroes he serves alongside from the Corps. Although most of the costume, like the mask, matches the traditional Spider-Man garb, the unique white detailing helps the flag design to pop. The solid blue leg design complements the torso pattern further.

8 Scarlet Spider (Earth-616)

Kaine Parker and Ben Reilly As Scarlet Spiders

Both Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker have taken on the moniker of the Scarlet Spider in the past. The clones take their look from their "brother" but each costume has been given its own unique spin. It's hard to judge which is better because they both offer something different.

Kaine's version of the Spider-Man look is all-red, with a black mask. It's a slightly sinister design, but nonetheless memorable. Ben Reilly might use a very similar logo to Kaine, but the all-red outfit accompanies a blue hoodie. This is perhaps the more popular of the two looks, with the grounded street wear adding a layer of authenticity. Regardless, both Scarlet Spider iterations stand out in a crowd and speak to the identity of the characters.

7 Spider-Man Noir (Earth-90214)

Spider-Man Noir looks across the city in Marvel Comics

Spider-Man Noir is a character inspired by the black-and-white crime noir dramas that have captivated audiences for decades. That classic gritty, murder mystery tone is present throughout all the character's narratives and his costume thus replicates the genre. For starters, its color palette relies on blacks, whites, and grays.

The webbing of Spider-Man Noir's mask is pretty discreet and the pattern isn't present throughout the rest of the costume as it is on Spider-Man variants. But the noir hat, leather jacket, practical footwear, and goggles all give a worn sense to the attire. Ultimately, this costume presents a mysterious Spider-Man who has clearly seen a few shootouts in his time.

6 Spider-Punk (Earth-138)

Spider-Punk in his costume rocking out on his guitar.

One of Spider-Man's greatest secret weapons is his musical talent. It might not be Peter Parker that boasts those skills, but Hobie Brown more than makes up for that. Spider-Punk's whole vibe plays into punk culture, and Hobie was a standout new character in Across the Spider-Verse.

Spider-Punk uses a spider-themed guitar in battle. His sneakers and denim jacket are accompanied by a spiked collar and wristbands. This is Spider-Man in full gig mode, complete with a mohawk spike design across the top of the mask. The overall outfit speaks directly to Hobie's culture and interests while still including elements that match the rest of the Spider-Man family.

5 Web-Weaver (Earth-71490)

As a clothing designer, Cooper Coen's costume had to make a statement. On Earth-71490 Coen had a crush on Peter Parker and pushed him out of danger when the radioactive spider was about to bite. Coen instead gained the powers and became Web-Weaver. His costume speaks to his passion for fashion.

Web-Weaver's design is elegant and totally different. Although there is some red detailing on the webbing around the collar, Coen abandoned the traditional colors of Spider-Mand. The yellow and white palette is a fresh look and pays reference to the color of the spider that bit Coen. The high neck, leg detailing, and flared cuffs all add to an extravagant and expensive garb. It's both beautiful and heavily inspired by the man behind the mask.

4 Ghost Spider (Earth-11638)

The Ghost Rider Spider-Man

Across the multiverse, Spider-Man has become even stronger by bonding to other cosmic powers. On Earth-11638, Peter Parker had to atone for the sins of his past life and transformed into the Ghost Spider. The Spirit of Vengeance's full range of power is yet to be determined compared to the traditional Ghost Rider of Earth-616.

Ghost Spider burned a bright blue and white instead of the traditional red and orange. The character's suit seemed almost like burning flesh, with the ghoulish design paying homage to imagery often associated with the grim reaper. A black spider logo speaks to the corruption that was once at Peter's core, but the overall feel of the piece is both paranormal and terrifying. It's rare that a Spider-Man looks to strike total fear in his enemies.

3 Spider-Man 2099 (Earth-928)

Spider Man 2099 jumps through Nueva York

Spider-Man 2099 is from an alternative timeline where Miguel O'Hara took on the Spider-Man mantle. The character is perhaps one of the most iconic variants from the multiverse, playing a starring role in Across the Spider-Verse and games like Spider-Man: Edge of Time. His futuristic look is heavily influenced by the technology and developments of the Nueva York of tomorrow.

Spider-Man 2099 uses a blue color palette as a base, not too dissimilar to the classic Spider-Man. He also uses a deep shade of red to detail the blank slate, but the logo and eye design are almost violent in their shapes. There's something unsettling about the brutality of the imagery, which is often accompanied by spikes along Spider-Man 2099's arms. Clawed fingers complete the fierce design.

2 Ultimate Spider-Man (Earth-1610)

Miles Morales charging his fist as the Ultimate Spider-Man

Miles Morales was so gripping and his coming-of-age Spider-Man journey spoke to so many readers. His costume needed to replicate the heroism the Spider-Man name has been associated with, while still feeling like Miles' own take.

The Ultimate Spider-Man, who now resides on Earth-616, made a black and red costume. The shadowy base color allows the red webbing and spider insignia to really pop. The red fingertips are a great addition that draws attention to Miles' venom blasts. The triangular collar design is now iconic to Miles himself and the look is usually elevated by the sneaker and hoodie combo popularized by Into The Spider-Verse.

1 Cosmic Spider-Man (Earth-13)

Cosmic Spider-Man using his powers as Captain Universe.

Cosmic Spider-Man demonstrates what happens when Peter Parker gains the abilities of Captain Universe. This galactic power can attach to anyone. On Earth-13, Cosmic Spider-Man is the wielder of the Enigma Force. The suit finds an equilibrium between Spider-Man's iconic garbs and something more enigmatic.

Cosmic Spider-Man's suit thus employs cosmic imagery. The shapes across the shoulders mimic the planets and stars of deep space. Although a red mouthpiece hints towards the Spider-Man beneath the suit, the white and blue/black combo is an elegant addition. While the suit lacks a spider insignia, its totally original take helps define one of the most powerful Peter Parkers in the Spider-Verse.
