The powers that the Skrulls copy are absolutely game-changing when it comes to bolstering their invading forces. Without copying other people's powers, the Skrulls wouldn't be able to impersonate superpowered individuals, let alone go head-to-head with them in combat.

Replicating the Avengers and X-Men's powers made the Super Skrulls incredibly dangerous, especially during Secret Invasion. Famously, Super Skrulls like Kl'rt have wielded all the Fantastic Four's powers at once. Leaning on years of experimentation and study, the Skrulls continually up their game, making them some of Marvel's most unpredictable and formidable villains.

10 Laser Eyes

Cyclops uses his optic blast to fight the Brood in Marvel Comics

Mutant abilities always seem difficult to replicate, considering they are built into heroes and villains' DNA. However, the Skrulls eventually discovered how to replicate Cyclop's optic blasts, an impressive feat they showed off during the Secret Invasion comics.

Skrulls like Rl'nnd and Biff Bison wielded Cyclops' explosive power in combat. However, they had a distinct advantage. For Cyclops, he can only control his powers through a special visor. Without it or his ruby quartz glasses, his eyes would fire blasts whenever his eyes were open. Impressively, the Skrulls figured out how to turn Cyclops' power on and off at will.

9 Venom Blast

Miles Morales may be the first hero people think of when discussing "venom blasts," but he's not the first hero to use them. Known as Spider-Woman, Jessica Drew first popularized that ability in the comics. Later in Secret Invasion, the Skrulls wouldn't just copy her blasts, but Jessica herself.

The Skrull leader, Veranke, wielded many of Jessica Drew's powers while masquerading as Spider-Woman. Although the Skrull princess was eventually shot down by Norman Osborn, powers like her bioelectric energy blasts, super strength, and agility helped her come close to victory.

8 Cosmic Power

Cosmic power is a versatile ability that's still being explored and experimented with in Marvel Comics. Captain Marvel famously boasts cosmic power, using the Nega-Bands to manipulate his cosmic energy. Adding that power to their arsenal, the Skrulls learned to adapt to Captain Marvel's powers and replicate them.

The Skrull Khn'nr was created to be a copy of Captain Marvel, complete with access to all the hero's memories. However, these memories eventually led Khn'nr to believe he was the real deal. His powers — like superhuman strength and energy blasts — were said to be even more powerful than the original Captain Marvel's. Everything Mar-Vell could do, Khn'nr could do better with the use of copycat Nega-Bands.

7 Teleportation

The X-Men's Nightcrawler as the Uncanny Spider-Man in Marvel Comics

Teleportation is a difficult skill to master and only the best Skrulls can copy such a talent. Nightcrawler has some of the best teleporting capabilities in the Marvel Universe. The character's rapid bamfing makes him a formidable opponent, able to throw his opponent off guard by disappearing and reappearing all over the place.

The Skrulls Biff Bison, Mr. Waspwind, and Rl'nnd have all replicated Nightcrawler's gift. Combining teleportation with a range of other skills made these Skrulls even more unpredictable and difficult to counter.

6 Flight

Marvel Heroes as skrulls during Secret Invasion by Marvel Comics

Flight seems like a standard power in the Marvel Universe. Even the weirdest characters tend to possess this ability. The Skrulls have always looked to flight as a perfect power to emulate, allowing them to take the battle to the skies when necessary.

The Skrulls have replicated different versions of flight used by various heroes. From The Human Torch to Spider-Woman, characters like Khn'nr and many Secret Invasion background Skrulls used flight to their advantage during combat.

5 Fire Manipulation

Marvel Comics' Kl'rt the Super-Skrull vs the Fantastic Four

The powers of The Fantastic Four have been copied more than anyone else. Marvel's first family has had numerous run-ins with the alien imposters, and the Super Skrulls quickly realized how valuable the FF's powers were — especially The Human Torch's fire manipulation.

Skrulls like Xavin and Kl'rt have demonstrated a good level of control when wielding The Human Torch's gifts. Often igniting just one of their arms on fire, they pack a blazing punch sure to do tremendous damage. Given how versatile Human Torch's abilities are — even allowing Skrulls to attack from a distance — it's no surprise many Skrulls use it.

4 Strength & Durability

Strength and durability are associated with a lot of Marvel characters. From Colossus to The Thing, some heroes transform their skin, almost like a protective layer of armor. Combine that with their super strength and the Skrulls know this is a winning combination.

Skrulls like Kl'rt and Xavin copied The Thing's rocky exterior, giving them a solid defense. Meanwhile, Biff Bison, Pagon, and Rl'nnd combined Colossus' powers with their other abilities, giving themselves a layer of armor.

3 Invisibility

Invisible Woman, Thing and Human Torch welcome a skrull named Lyja onto the Fantastic Four

Several Marvel heroes have some form of invisibility. Miles Morales' version resembles camouflaging and was recently put on display during Across the Spider-Verse. However, no one has gotten a better grasp of invisibility powers than The Invisible Woman herself.

Considering the Skrulls have copied the other powers of the Fantastic Four, it's natural they wanted The Invisible Woman's gifts. Kl'rt and Xavin both added the power to their arsenal. The Skrulls rarely use it since they have other methods of blending into a crowd. Regardless, having invisibility as a backup is a great asset for quick retreats after their cover is blown.

2 Force Fields

Marvel Comics' Invisible Woman deflecting attacks

Many characters in the Marvel Universe only have one power, but The Invisible Woman was lucky enough to gain two. Able to turn invisible, Susan Storm can also create force fields. She mostly uses them in a defensive capacity, but they have offensive capabilities as well.

In their obsession with replicating The Fantastic Four, the Skrulls have mimicked and weaponized Sue Storm's force fields. Chrell, Xavin, and Kl'rt have all found uses for her power — like trapping someone and leaving them with limited air. In some cases, the Skrulls have developed even stronger force fields than Sue Storm.

1 Stretching

The Fantastic Four features Mister Fantastic himself, a genius who can stretch and morph his body. It's a challenging power to get right, but the Skrulls haven't shied away from using Mister Fantastic's gift when copying the FF's capabilities.

Skrulls like Kl'rt and Chrell have added stretching abilities to their line-up. While Reed Richards gets incredibly creative with his power, the Skrulls stick with the basics, stretching their limbs to throw a mean punch. When coupled with other powers like igniting their hand or turning their fist into solid rock, their strikes become even more lethal.
