Summary
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is the product of Steven Spielberg and Melissa Mathison, which initially started as a film but expanded into a smaller group of adjacent properties, such as a brief comic run, a video game on the Atari, and even a Universal Studios Florida ride. E.T. was a pop-culture icon in the late 80s and, to this day, has only had one sequel of any kind, in the form of a four-minute commercial sequel during Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade during 202 titled "A Holiday Special." E.T.'s most recent appearance was in the 2022 film Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers, where he was jokingly set to fight Batman.
