Ever since the mutants became the superpowered nation of Krakoa and demanded the same level of respect as other nations, certain groups push more for their eradication. Orchis, certain governments and even Feilong have created legitimate mutant killers that deserve attention and concern. That said, their actions may have also led to some highly unlikely relationships.

For Iron Man, he lost everything in another bid to rid the world of weapons. As a result, this left his company open to the likes of Feilong to purchase Stark Industries and use repulsor technology to create Stark Sentinels. This pushed Tony into the arms of Krakoa and a close relationship with Emma Frost. But this bond may have taken a much greater step as their wedding has already been confirmed. However, Iron Man and the White Queen's wedding was predicted years before Stark had lost his company.

Tony Stark's Unexpected Wedding Was Predicted Years Prior

History of the Marvel Universe showcases Knull and predicts Tony Stark and Emma Frost's wedding

Emma Frost had a rather unique relationship with Tony Stark, where nothing was official, but everything was implied before Emma began dating Cyclops. Since then, Emma has remained largely independent as the further success of Krakoa was her primary goal, making her union with Stark all the more surprising. Stark, on the other hand, was no stranger to relationships as he'd dated Pepper Potts, She-Hulk, the Wasp and even villains like Madame Masque. Stark has always been a free spirit who wasn't one to be tied down, yet he's the one tying the knot with Frost.

Between the two, there was never a strong romantic connection. In 2019's History of the Marvel Universe #6 by Mark Waid and Javier Rodriguez, many events were teased, including some that had yet to happen including the massive King in Black by Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman. However, one event that had flown under the radar but was clearly mentioned was the wedding of Tony Stark and Emma Frost. That said, the circumstances behind the wedding have remained largely unknown. But recent stories, specifically Iron Man's, may offer the keys necessary to understand why these unlikely characters would unite in holy matrimony.

Why Would Tony Stark And Emma Frost Tie the Knot?

In recent years, the enemies of Krakoa have started to shift their sights on Iron Man to further their nefarious schemes. Feilong having bought Stark Industries was a massive shake-up and fulfilled his desire for a nemesis in Tony Stark while fueling his vendetta against mutantkind. But with Feilong having framed Stark for murder, Tony can't take the fight to his enemy on US soil without risk of detainment, hence why he may marry Frost. Wilson Fisk had done the same thing, earning asylum by marrying the mutant Typhoid Mary and fleeing the States for a fresh start. However, the idea would also benefit Frost as it would be a chance to have one of the planet's greatest minds further advance Krakoa's tech for the coming battle.

With Stark and Frost getting married, all points lead to them doing so for a chance to take the fight to their enemies. In that time, Tony could clear his name and Frost will have a fighting chance to protect Krakoa against Stark Sentinels. That said, while all points lead to this wedding being a strategic choice rather than a romantic one, love could surprisingly blossom. Frost has always been attracted to men of action and Stark is a character who prefers to not waste time. As a result, when all possibilities are considered, the most unlikely wedding that was predicted five years ago may make more sense than anyone realized.
