The following contains spoilers for Venom #21, on sale now from Marvel Comics.

Over the course of the past few years, Eddie Brock's life has been altered in numerous ways, as has his body itself. In fact, Eddie's most recent transformation has seen him not only break the bounds of what he is, but what the symbiotes of the Marvel Universe can be. Not only is the King in Black officially Marvel's first human symbiote, he is slowly revealing the full extent of what that means, and his new and improved webs are just the tip of what is sure to be a gruesome iceberg.

After yet again resurrecting himself by sheer force of will (this time through what little was left of his human remains), Eddie is finally ready for his rematch with the hulking Bedlam. As seen in Venom #21 (by Al Ewing, Cafu, Pere Pérez, Frank D'Armata, and VC's Clayton Cowles), the two symbiote titans are eager to tear each other apart with their bare hands. Eventually, Eddie sees the opportunity to both take the fight to another level and dig deeper into just what his new form can do. With little more than a thought, Eddie's nerves burst forth from his hands in the latest evolution of Venom's webs, and with them he launches himself straight into Bedlam's brain.

While Venom has long been synonymous with manipulating his fluid form in much the same way that Spider-Man slings his webs, that ability was developed thanks to the time the symbiote spent with Peter Parker. Despite the symbiote becoming obsessed with Spider-Man early on, it continued to mimic the Wall-Crawler's most iconic abilities in its own way. In setting the standard, however, Eddie and Venom also opened the door for this particular power to evolve in countless ways, with his human symbiote transformation offering the latest development. Now that Eddie has complete control over his physical form, using his nerves as webs is only the beginning of what he can now accomplish.

After literally willing himself back to life, Eddie showcases an impossible level of control over his body. Beyond the webs, Brock is able to reshape himself after being chewed into a gorey pile of flesh by Bedlam, counting off the bones and organs as they are recreated and set into their proper place. Considering how familiar symbiote-centric characters have been remade into grotesque version of themselves in stories such as Spider-Man: Spider's Shadow (by Chip Zdarsky and Pasqual Ferry), the idea of pushing that envelope even further seems almost unfathomable. Nonetheless, the reigning King in Black has managed to do just that in a way that could end up entirely redefining exactly what he has become.

Eddie Brock's Nerve Webs Change Everything About Him

Eddie Brock might be the first human symbiote, but it appears that the only thing human about Eddie is his spirit and the general shape of his physical body. There seems to be nothing stopping Eddie from manipulating his body in whatever way he can imagine, just as he would do if he were still manipulating a symbiote. As such, he really isn't all that far removed from his fellow Kings in Black, even if he has been elevated above them.

This isn't to say that Bedlam, Meridius, or any other powerful symbiote is less than Eddie, but there is no doubt that he is in tune with himself in ways they have never been. Beyond shifting his form and willing it into whatever he wants, Eddie has shown the capacity to recover from literally everything and anything up to and including death itself. He may not be the only symbiote to do so, but he is the only one of his kind to accomplish that feat without the assistance of the Hive or another symbiote. That being the case, Eddie could very well be the first truly indestructible symbiote to ever exist, and therefore the very last King in Black that the Marvel Universe will ever need.
