Written by Seanan McGuire with art from Flaviano Armentaro, the comic allowed the best version of Gwen Stacy to work out her rivalry with her bandmate, as their personal relationship drove the story forward. It's a perfect event tie-in that elevated the figures involved.

With the crew battling against monstrous foes that have been enhanced by the magic of a Kraken's eye, fans will learn a lot more about Gwen Stacy in these tense conflicts. It's an intriguing design shift for the hero and a demonstration of the fact that she can stand side-by-side with key Avengers and not look out of place.

It pivots around Earth's heroes trapped in Spider-Gwen's reality, while doppelgangers take their place within regular Earth-616 continuity. It boasts the tone of a classic Marvel team-up book with a contemporary edge and features Ghost-Spider importantly taking on more of a leadership role.

2 End Of The Spider-Verse (2022-2023)

End of the Spider-Verse by Dan Slott and Mark Bagley is focused on the collapse of the multiverse, due to the rise of the wasp goddess Shathra. With the early Marvel gods wrapped up in a toxic relationship, Shathra wants revenge for never getting the control she deemed herself worthy of.

It's massive in its scope, with many of the Spider-Man variants getting taken over by Shathra's wasp minions. Ghost-Spider is among the group to fall, but her role within the conflict is so much bigger. It's always great to see Gwen get a starring role in an ensemble, especially when the fate of the multiverse is at stake.

1 Spider-Gwen Annual (2016)

​​​​​​​It's shocking that Spider-Gwen has only received one annual, but it's definitely one of her most notable outings. Written by Jason Latour with art from Chris Brunner, the annual sets up Gwen Stacy's next chapter in the Marvel Universe effectively.

With three stories taking a look at what makes this Gwen Stacy so special, Captain America, the Mary Janes, and She-Hulk all guest-star in the spectacle of these Ghost-Spider stories. Tonally, each narrative is varied too, and the full range of this new Gwen Stacy is tremendously displayed, from her roles as comic relief to a dramatic powerhouse.
