Russell Crowe had a hilarious response to a viral meme that pointed out that the Academy Award-winning actor has played a father of an inordinate amount of super powered characters in multiple superhero cinematic universes.

The actor retweeted a meme pointing out the many characters he has been the father of in superhero movies over the years (in the news now with the release of the trailer for Kraven the Hunter, where Crowe plays the villainous father of the title character in the film), and added the joke, "Fertile. Across time and space …"

What fathers have Crowe played in superhero movies so far?

Russel Crowe made his debut as a patriarch in 2013's Man of Steel, where he played the doomed father of Kal-El, Superman, whose foe, General Zod, later caused trouble for Kal-El on Earth years later. Crowe had even discussed doing a film prequel showing Jor-El's time on Krypton before its destruction, noting, "I would have loved to have done like a Jor-El story pre the Superman story and while him and [General Zod] are friends and the buildup of the political tension. That would have been interesting."

Just last year, Crowe returned to play one of the most famous fathers of all-time, as he took on the role of Zeus in Thor: Love and Thunder. In the post-credits scene in the film, Zeus, angered after an earlier defeat in the film he received at the hands of Thor (who had been trying to get Zeus's help to stop Gorr, the God Butcher), unleashed his most famous son, the demigod, Hercules, on Thor, which will presumably occur in a future Marvel Cinematic Universe film.

Finally, Crowe will be appearing in the upcoming Kraven the Hunter film, where he plays the father of the title character, who drove his son to become a hunter, but that move appears to backfire when his son now hunts down his father's evil associates.
