The following contains spoilers for Season 3 of The Boys, now streaming on Prime Video.

The Homelander might be facing legal repercussions in Season 4 of The Boys.

In the final scene of Season 3, Homelander (Antony Starr) introduced the world to his superpowered son Ryan (Cameron Crovetti). After a protestor throws a can at Ryan, Homelander kills him in front of a crowd of supporters, who applaud him. In a new clip from the Vought International Twitter account, CEO Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie) reveals that Homelander is facing murder charges for his actions, but that the company and its shareholders see the incident as "an act of heroism" and fully support their "greatest hero" and "most loving father." Barrett concludes by saying Vought has "complete faith in the American legal system to get things right, like it always does" and encourages fans to tweet #Homefree to support their champion.

Season 3 of The Boys saw Homelander fully embrace his role as a tool of patriotic violence and figurehead of a burgeoning fascist movement. Showrunner Eric Kripke has stated that this was done to make the parallels between the character and former President Donald Trump more explicit, with Homelander's actions in the finale reflecting Trump's claim that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not lose a single vote.

The Boys' Homelander is a Trump Analogue

"[Homelander has] always been a Trump analogue for me" he explained. "I'll admit to being a little more bald this season than I have in past seasons. But the world is getting more coarse and less elegant. The urgency of our team's writing reflects that." Notably, Homelander's fictitious legal troubles come days after Trump himself was indicted for mishandling classified documents and months after he was found liable for sexually abusing and defaming writer E. Jean Carrol.

Additionally, The Boys has used its social media presence to skewer the American right wing. After longtime Fox News host Tucker Carlson was dismissed by the network, Vought International confirmed that their own pundit, Cameron Coleman (Matthew Edison), is not only still with the company, but also that his contract has been renewed. Additionally, after Twitter changed its verification checkmark system, Vought used the opportunity to reassure fans that another of their heroes, Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell), is alive and well (despite him having also been killed by Homelander in the season 3 finale).

Season 4 of The Boys doesn't have a release date yet. Seasons 1-3 are available to stream on Prime Video.
