As The Boys prepares to return for Season 4, Simon Pegg is gearing up to reprise his role as Hughie's father for more episodes than ever before.

Speaking to Collider, the fan-favorite actor revealed how many episodes will feature Hugh Campbell Snr., noting that his character will receive more screen time in Season 4 than ever before. "I’m in about four episodes, and it was a joy to be back. It’s a great crew. They are an amazing bunch of people, and that show is sick as f*ck!" Pegg explained. It's currently unclear how Hugh Campbell will appear in Season 4 or what sort of dynamic he'll have with his son, played by Jack Quaid.

While Pegg's Hugh Snr. only appears in Season 1 of The Boys in a relatively small capacity, he quickly garnered plenty of praise from fans of the show. Pegg himself has openly discussed his experiences filming Prime Video's superhero parody, going so far as to describe Season 4 as "more fun than a Compound V enema." Details on the show's next chapter are still largely unknown but several members of the cast and crew have admitted that it may be one of the most brutal and disturbing installments yet.

The Boys Keeps Pushing the Boundary

"There has to be a ceiling, but we can’t seem to find it," said Antony Starr, who plays the lead character of the villainous Homelander, before recounting a particular Season 4 moment that left him baffled. "I was looking at the person I was opposite, and I said, ‘What are we doing? I can’t believe this! I could have done anything else with my life, but here I am doing this?’ It was truly the most bizarre thing I’ve ever done."

The Boys is widely recognized for its visceral and action and over-the-top violence, a trend that is expected to continue in Season 4. Stephen Fleet, the series VFX supervisor, stated that while filming the upcoming story arc he bore witness to "the most disgusting thing I have seen working in this business thus far." What this could be remains a mystery but many fans are expected the show to top Season 3's "Herogasm" episode which sported plenty of ridiculous moments and bodily fluids.

The Boys Season 4 does not yet have a release date but Seasons 1 - 3 can be streamed on Prime Video.
