The following contains spoilers for The Boys Season 3, now streaming on Prime Video.

Payback team member Crimson Countess addresses fans of The Boys about her Season 3 death, and calls for her single "Chimps Don't Cry" to receive award nominations.

The official Twitter account for The Boys posted a video in which actor Laurie Holden reprises her role as the supe Crimson Countess. She promises fans she is still alive -- despite rumors she "will neither confirm nor deny" -- before resharing the music video for the aforementioned song composed by Christopher Lennertz. The video ends with a "For Your Consideration" card pushing for the single to be nominated during this year's award season.

Soldier Boy, Crimson Countess' Roles in The Boys, Explained

In Prime Video's The Boys, which adapts the comics of the same name created by writer Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson, Crimson Countess was one member of Vought International's elder superhero team Payback. This group fought alongside Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) before their retirement and replacement by the Seven, now the world's premier team in present day. During Season 3, Crimson Countess is confronted by Soldier Boy due to her and the other Payback supes betraying him years earlier. Ultimately in the episode "The Last Time To Look On This World Of Lies," Soldier Boy kills Crimson Countess with a massive blast of energy, one which reduces her to little more than a charred skeleton.

In June, Ackles all but confirmed Soldier Boy's return in The Boys Season 4, noting, "There's some things out there. The actor clarified, "I'm not allowed to give anything out, but we'll just say that Soldier Boy is not dead. Thank God." After joining the cast for Season 3, Ackles' Soldier Boy became a fast fan-favorite as The Boys' twisted analog for Captain America. The character was also revealed to be the biological father of overarching series antagonist Homelander, portrayed by Antony Starr.

Simon Pegg Hypes Up The Boys Season 4

Hollywood icon Simon Pegg, who in The Boys plays the father of Jack Quaid's Hughie Campbell (modeled after Pegg in the comics), recently gave fans an indication of what to expect from The Boys Season 4. "You now how crazy The Boys is?" Pegg asked before promising, "It's gonna get crazier. I had so much fun on that show." Pegg confirmed that his Hugh Campbell Sr. will have an expanded role in Season 4 compared to prior seasons, and praised his time working with Quaid and actor Rosemarie DeWitt, who joins the series as Hughie's mother. Regarding his time on set, Pegg noted, "It was so great to go back and play Hugh Sr. I love Jack. It was great to work with Rosemarie."

As of writing, though it has finished filming, The Boys Season 4 does not have a confirmed release date or window. Before the new season, the show's college-themed spinoff Gen V is expected to premiere sometime in Fall 2023 on Prime Video. In the meantime, the first three seasons of The Boys, as well as its animated spinoff The Boys Presents: Diabolical, are available to stream now.
