The Bear Season 2 cast has welcomed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 star Will Poulter to its cast.
According to The Daily Beast, Poulter joined the cast of The Bear's second season as a Dutch pastry chef, who will play an important role in the storyline for Lionel Boyce's character Marcus. Poulter’s other notable television credits include The Fades, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, and Dopesick. His performance in Dopesick earned him his first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2022.
The main cast from The Bear Season 1 will all return for the second season. The only major character who is yet to be confirmed is Mikey, Carmy's deceased brother and The Beef's original owner, played by Jon Bernthal. Poulter will not be the only new cast member to join the series in Season 2, however, with Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) and Molly Gordon (Shiva Baby) set to join the cast as well.
What to Expect From The Bear Season 2?
Season 2 will see Marcus travel abroad to study dessert-making under the tutelage of Poulter's master dessert chef. Season 2 will also follow Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri), and Richard "Richie" Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they work to transform their grimy sandwich joint into Chicago's next hot restaurant.
Created by Christopher Storer, The Bear is an American comedy-drama series that premiered on Hulu in June 2022. The Bear stars and stars White, Moss-Bachrach, Edebri, and Boyce, along with Liza Colon-Zayas as Tina and Abby Elliot as Natalie "Sugar" Berzatto. The series has received widespread critical acclaim, which led to a second season being greenlit by Hulu in July 2022.
As for Poulter, the actor most recently starred in Marvel Studios' third Guardians of the Galaxy movie as Adam Warlock, making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. At the time of writing, it is unclear if Poulter will return as Adam Warlock for a future Marvel project. In a January interview, writer/director James Gunn praised Poulter's acting chops and explained exactly why he decided to cast the actor in the role.
"I wanted somebody who was youthful, and I wanted the person who had the dramatic chops and the comedic chops, not only for this movie but for what Marvel will use Adam Warlock for in the future," Gunn said. He added that "[Adam Warlock] could become this really important character" moving forward in the MCU.
Season 2 of The Bear is set to premiere on June 22 on Hulu and will consist of 10 episodes.
