Steve Nissen, President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, and Ellen K, Chair of the Walk of Fame Selection Panel and Radio personality, announced on the Hollywood Walk of Fame website that one of the new honorees on the Hollywood Walk of Fame will be Emmy nominated Yellowjackets star Christina Ricci.

According to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the Hollywood Walk of Fame Selection Panel selected a group of new well-known stars for the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the categories of motion pictures, television radio, recording, and sports entertainment. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors ratified these honorees on June 21, 2023, after selecting them from hundreds of nominations.

Christina Ricci's Hollywood Career

This award comes after Ricci has spent more than 33 years in the entertainment industry. In 1990, she made her big screen debut in the critically acclaimed film Mermaids as a child star. As a child star, Ricci went on to star in Casper, Now and Then, Gold Diggers: Secret of Bear Mountain, but her most famous role as a child star is undoubtedly that of Wednesday Addams in the Addams Family and the Addams Family Values films. Ricci, along with Yellowjackets and Ice Storm co-star Elijah Wood, has been one of the few child stars to successfully make the transition from child star to adult actor. As an adult, Ricci went on to star in Penelope, Speed Racer, Monstrous, and Wednesday.

"The Selection Committee which is made up of fellow Walk of Famers, carefully hand-picks a group of honorees each year that represent various genres of the entertainment world," Ellen K said, "The Committee did an amazing job choosing these very talented people. We can't wait to see each honoree's reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood's history with the unveiling of their star on the world's most famous walkway!"

In the category of motion pictures, the other honorees include Chadwick Boseman (posthumous), Kevin Feige, Gal Gadot, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Chris Meledandri, Chris Pine, and Michelle Yeoh. The honorees in the category of television include Ken Jeong, Eugene Levy, Mario Lopez, Jim Nantz, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Michael Schur, Kerry Washington, and Raúl De Molina and Lili Estefan. These star ceremonies have not been scheduled for a specific date. From the date of selection, recipients have two years to schedule the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony before the opportunity expires.
