The highly-anticipated live-action Twisted Metal series adds Will Arnett to its star-studded cast.

Peacock announced that the beloved Arrested Development actor will voice the iconic main character Sweet Tooth. Fans of the video game series will undoubtedly recognize the character as the twisted clown prominently used throughout the franchise. Arnett's portrayal of Sweet Tooth is described as "a hilarious and terrifying hulk of a man, who is as emotional as he is cunning. A lover of chaos, this majestic rage-filled killer dons an ever-smiling clown mask and uses "Lost Vegas" as his own personal kill-ground, all while he drives his infamous doomsday ice-cream truck." Arnett will also executive produce the series.

Arnett is the latest actor to join Peacock's Twisted Metal as the project continues to flesh out its roster of actors. Spider-Man: No Way Home star Thomas Hayden Church recently joined the production as Agent Stone, a "cold and unyielding post-apocalyptic highway patrolman who rules the roads with a silver tongue and a twisted iron fist." Encanto and Brooklyn 99 star Stephanie Beatriz was also confirmed to feature in the series, playing a "badass car thief who acts purely on instinct" known as Quiet. Marvel Cinematic Universe star Anthony Mackie is also set to star and serve as an executive producer.

Beyond the cast, very little is known about the Twisted Metal series. The official synopsis confirms that the show will take place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland and will follow a down-on-his-luck outsider as he tries to deliver a mysterious package. "With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he'll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a derange clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck."

Speaking about Twisted Metal's production, Mackie provided a brief update on the series' development, teasing fans that filming was about to begin in April 2022. "My new project Twisted Metal is gonna be on Peacock," Mackie said. "I'm about to start shooting that. And if you remember the video game, it's just us driving cars and blowing stuff up and trying to make it to New San Francisco."

Twisted Metal does not yet have a specific release window. The series will stream exclusively on Peacock.
