Diablo IV is the latest entry in the action role-playing series from Blizzard Entertainment. Compared to Diablo III, the story of Diablo IV is grounded in reality by focusing on the populace of Sanctuary over royal politics or a high-fantasy adventure. The series' trademark loot-focused character-building and exploration of procedurally generated dungeons return to Diablo IV. At the same time, new features like an open-world environment and player-versus-player combat (that was promised for Diablo III) are introduced.

Before release, numerous developers of Diablo IV said Blizzard was encouraging employees to "crunch" during development for the game to hit its June 2023 release date. The game also features a Battle Pass for its seasonal live-service structure. While including Battle Passes for live-service games has been seen as controversial by fans, Blizzard is assuring players Diablo IV will not become "pay-to-win."

Diablo IV is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
