After years of waiting, Sims 4 fans will finally have the chance to raise horses.

EA recently posted the reveal trailer for its Sims 4: Horse Ranch expansion, which showcases a rustic, "American-West" style world called Chestnut Ridge. Here, players can own and run their own ranches, raising young foals into strong adult horses. The trailer also features mini-goats and mini-sheep, which players can raise along with their equestrian companions. The Horse Ranch expansion pack is scheduled for release on July 20.

Sims 4 Horse Ranch Adds More Than Horses

In Horse Ranch, players can experience nearly every facet of running a ranch, from feeding and bathing the animals to mucking out the Horse Beds. They can also create a new consumable called "Nectar," which can either be eaten for bonus effects or aged and sold for additional Simoleans. Players can obtain horses either by purchasing, rescuing or breeding them. They can also customize their own in "Create-a-Sim" mode. Once obtained, players can work to culminate their four unique skill traits: Temperament, Endurance, Agility and Jumping. After increasing these skills, horses can compete in various competitions at the Equestrian Center, earning rewards such as wall plaques and metal signs that players can display on their ranches.

Horse Ranch allows players several new ways to interact with the in-game community, attending cookouts and dance-offs at Ranch Gatherings or showing off their animals at Ranch Animal Day. Players and their horses can even explore the surrounding wilderness, traversing scenic areas such as Galloping Gulch or Dreadhorse Caverns. Plenty of campfire spots and picnic areas also allow players to interact with other NPCs and their animals.

The last Sims 4 expansion pack also fulfilled another major player request: to expand on the game's stagnant aging system. Released earlier this year, Sims 4: Growing Together added milestones for each developmental stage. Rather than just trying to soothe infants to sleep, players can now await landmark moments such as "Toe in Mouth," "Learned to Clap" and "Rolled over to Tummy." Completing each milestone in categories like "Fine Motor" and "Gross Motor" even grants Toddlers bonus levels for skills like Communication, Movement and Thinking. Additionally, the expansion also introduces the "Midlife Crisis" mechanic for adult Sims, which adds a plethora of new tasks to complete based on the individual Sims' desires.

The Sims 4: Horse Ranch expansion pack launches on July 20.
