Summary
The Sandman is an adaptation of the comic series written by Neil Gaiman back in 1989. Tom Sturridge stars as Dream / Morpheus, the lord of dreams and member of the Endless, which includes Death, Delirium, Desire, Despair, Destiny, Destruction, and Morpheus / Dream himself. While Morpheus attempts to capture a powerful nightmare, he is captured by a greed-consumed British noble in an attempt to capture Death. For 106 years, Morpheus is imprisoned until an accident sets him free. Now Morpheus must return to his ruined kingdom and restore order to a world stricken with endless sleep sickness, righting the wrongs of the past century. First, of course, Morpheus must acquire all of his gear to set things right. The Sandman is a Netflix exclusive series, with the first season adapting Preludes and Nocturnes: The Doll's House, the first volume of the series. Season one premiered on August 5 2022, with a second season still unconfirmed.
